Performance + Lilypad Arduino + mesh networking + Kickstarter = needs your money
Kickstarter: Local Autonomy Networks - Find Each Other
This is a truly awesome idea: 21st century clothing offering the potential for real security in start contrast to that security theatre being played out in airports &tc. to give the illusion of security.

Local Autonomy Networks (Autonets) is a line of mesh networked electronic clothing with the goal of building autonomous local networks that don’t rely on corporate infrastructure to function, inspired by community based, anti-racist, prison abolitionist responses to gendered violence.

If you’re looking to invest in the future, this would be an excellent place to start.

May 5th was the day of this year’s Supermoon, the time when the moon is closest to the earth.
This is one of my better photos taken just after midnight.  It was supposed to be closest at 11:30.

It’s not a done deal!
A biogas plant in Elmira puts our health and safety at risk.
This isn’t green energy. For this proposed Elmira Biogas site, all the waste must be trucked in and out, resulting in negative net energy (tax subsided) and a negative impact on the environment.

Today.  The Town of Elmira, in the Region of Waterloo, Ontario

Elmira isn’t the kind of place you expect to see protesters.  But then, again, it isn’t every day a provincial government completely ignores the wishes of the people and the municipal government.

Ontario’s Green Energy Act means that Green Energy projects get the green light even if it means trucking garbage down the main street to the biogas facility that will soon nestle in a residential community steps away from an elementary school.
